Students

What

The Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA) is your opportunity to participate in simulated, high level United Nations General Assembly meetings.  MUNA is an exciting, hands-on experience designed to promote international understanding among high school students.

The Rotary Club of Winnipeg, was the first club outside of the United States  and has facilitated this great event for over 50 years.

When

May 4 – May 7, 2017

MUNA will take place May 4 – May 7, 2017, starting with opening ceremonies and continuing with Committee Sessions over two days.  A BBQ dinner and dance will be held for all delegates on the evening of Friday, May 5th .

Your role

Each school delegation is assigned a member country of the United Nations.  You will research your country’s foreign policy positions, debate, deliberate, and vote upon United Nations resolutions seeking solutions to current global issues.

How MUNA will benefit you

There are a number of  benefits to be gained from your MUNA experience.  Aside from the unique educational, international and diplomatic experience that only MUNA can offer, you will have the opportunity to create lasting connections with students from other participating Canadian and American high schools.

Responsibilities

Along with the unique opportunity that comes with being a MUNA delegate comes the responsibility to prepare, participate and even dress in accordance with United Nations standards.
